Dita Von Teese: I’m done with men in eyeliner
February 21st, 2009 | News | No Comments »Dita Von Teese has said she had a year without sex following the end of her marriage to Marilyn Manson.
The burlesque star split from Manson at the end of 2006 after five years together. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split but Manson’s close friendship with Evan Rachel Wood is believed to have been a factor in the marriage break-down.
Now Dita has revealed: “After the divorce I was going through complete heartbreak. It changes you, I spent the first year not having sex at all, which was strange as I still continued to convey sex in my work.
“After a split, a lot of men put on a band-aid by getting another woman. I wanted to deal with the break-up and learn from it and I’ve done that now.
“I wanted to come through it and be able to love again as if my heart had never been broken.”
Now though the dancer is on the look out for a new man – but knows more about what she doesn’t want than what she does: “The only thing is, at the moment I’m definitely not looking at musicians.
“I’m attracted to normal, sweet-looking guys in sweaters. I’m finished with the leather trousers and eyeliner types. You can have a roller-coaster ride with a guy in a sweater.”
